SPECIAL FEATURES:

• A four-level building raised to accomodate snow accumulation; storage and mechanical space were located on the lower level
• Fans were used to pull heat from the top levels circulating fresh air throughout the house, counteracting the stack effect
• Operable windows in the loft allow free flow ventilation through the building during spring, summer and fall
• The shape balanced nicely with the conifer forest, providing a very private setting
